Families are invited for a fitness-based story time with Stretch-n-Grow. Bring a towel, blanket, or yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing.

Jingle de Niet will lead a free yoga class that focuses on breath, gentle poses, and meditation. Join her on the Library Lawn for a practice towards complete wellness of both body and mind. Bring water and a yoga mat or towel.

An all-ages story time with stories, dancing, and singing. Attendance is limited to 75.

Kinusaiga is a Japanese fiber art creating designs or landscapes using scrap fabric. We’ll take inspiration from this to create one-of-a kind patchwork art. No artistic skills are needed. 

Develop your hand sewing skills by learning a few basic stitches.  After a quick tutorial, take what you learned to customize and upcycle a hoodie or sweatshirt. Feel free to bring your own hoodie or sweatshirt for a perfect fit.

Move and shake through art! Staff from Hickory Ballet & Performing Arts will lead classes on a different style of dance each week based on a painting from a famous artist.

Ages 9-12.  Join us to create some framed creepy crawly felt bugs.

The book for June is Doc Watson: A Life in Music by Eddie Huffman. A limited number of copies will be available at the 2nd floor Reference Desk for those attending the book club.

Participants will learn chess basics, strategies, and tactics by playing with other chess enthusiasts in the community. All skill levels, from beginners to champions are welcome.   
 

For May, June, July, and August, Page Burners Book Club will meet at the Patrick Beaver Memorial Library.

Explore and practice mindfulness techniques that can be used in your everyday life. These techniques include open eyed awareness, mindful moving and eating, and how to conduct a general assessment of yourself throughout the day.
