This joint program from Hickory Public Library and City of Hickory Sports, Recreation & Sports Tourism will introduce you to great hikes and parks in our area. Hickory Hikers is open to all ages and experience levels but children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Register on the Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism website. Space is limited. 
 

September's adventure is in the Linville Gorge Wilderness. Transportation to Linville Gorge will be provided from Highland Recreation Center but you must register with Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism.

The library invites young readers to improve their reading skills by reading to a licensed therapy dog. This fun opportunity will help build fluency and confidence. Sign up for a half hour appointment to start your Paws journey. Caregivers are required to stay in the room during the appointment.

Qigong is a mind-body-spirit practice that improves one's mental and physical health by integrating posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent. Taught by Diane Christensen of Inner Chi Arts.
