For March, Hickory Hikers will meet at Valdese Lakeside Park in the main parking lot located at 1149 Lake Rhodhiss Dr NE, Valdese, NC 28690. 

The book selection for March is Those We Thought We Knew by David Joy.

Letter Link, a monthly meet up pen pal group focusing on engaging young writers’ literacy skills through creating postcards and letters for nonprofit organizations.

Participants will learn chess basics, strategies, and tactics by playing with other chess enthusiasts in the community. All skill levels, from beginners to champions are welcome. This program is led by library staff.   
 

Unifour Senior Games Silver Arts will host an exhibit upstairs in The Learning Lab from March 26th until April 4th. A reception will be held in the Meeting Room at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Friday, April 4th from 2:30-4pm. 

To celebrate National Library Week, Friends of Hickory Public Library will present the winners of their 2025 bookmark contest for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade.
