Interested in the art of weaving? Learn to use The Learning Lab’s Ashford Rigid Heddle Loom taught by career textile designer, Gretchen Blagg. Gretchen has more than 25 years of textile industry experience and a love for weaving, knitting, and sewing. From threading the warp in the loom to learning to weave, this class will teach you the basics as you create a woven scarf as a group.

The Learning Lab
The Learning Lab is available to library patrons ages 12 and up. A current Hickory Public Library card is required to use Learning Lab equipment. Patrons must sign the user agreement policy and participate in a free orientation session conducted by library staff before using the Lab.
