Meet Charlotte-based author Meredith Ritchie and learn about her novel Poster Girls. Set in 1943, Poster Girls tells the stories of Maggie Slone and Kora Bell, two military wives from completely different backgrounds, as they work at the massive and dangerous Shell Assembly Plant located in Charlotte, NC during WWII.
Told from two perspectives, Poster Girls is driven by the true but forgotten events and accomplishments of a diverse group of ordinary American women, both relevant and necessary to stop modern cycles of misunderstanding.
Ritchie's book has been selected as part of the North Carolina Humanities NC Reads state-wide book club.
