If you’ve ever dreamed of becoming a firefighter, now’s your chance! To celebrate Smokey the Bear’s 80th birthday, Hickory Fire Department, Smokey the Bear, and Stretch n Grow will lead a Fire Safety Bootcamp for kids in grades K-5.

Open Door Book Club will conclude its' participation in North Carolina Reads 2024. The book for June is Welcome to the Circus of Baseball by Ryan McGee.

Children aged 3-6 are invited to listen to a story and paint pottery inspired by a favorite picture book led by Adorned Arts and Pottery.

Using simple hand tools and techniques, create your own wooden spoon. Alvin Woody and others from Catawba Valley Woodcarvers Club will provide an introduction into carving basics. All tools and supplies will be provided.

Keep your mind active and sharp by taking part in a variety of quizzes, puzzles, and games at the library.

Learn from our friends at Nailed It DIY Studio to create a NC inspired string art! 

Parents must sign a waiver for teens to participate.

Adam Bigelow of Bigelow’s Botanical Excursions in Cullowhee, NC will present ways to rework your garden landscape to remove invasive plants and cultivate beautiful native replacements.

This July, we’ll take an adventure into The Forgotten Realms with a new group of characters to create mayhem and mischief (and maybe save some people along the way).
