Build, make and play as we explore our creativity through Legos. We will have free play and Lego challenges.

Every third Monday from 6-7 p.m., join us for hands on art projects, for youth ages 9 and up. 

This month we are creating Matisse bowls using balloons, paper, and paste. 

Enjoy stories that spark creativity and curiosity followed by hands-on activities that explore STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

Explore the Dinosaurs! Exhibit in Catawba Science Center's Carpenter Hall and view a showing of the new planetarium show, Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival. Attendees will be divided into two groups.

Join us at Taft Broome Park for stories, songs, and hands-on STEAM activities for young scientists. Bring a blanket or towel to sit on. In the event of rain, story time will be held inside Ridgeview Branch Library. 

Get ready for the Critter Keeper, an animal show for those not-faint-at-heart, offering a unique look at insects, reptiles, and a python. 

Create your own dinosaur, zombie, or dinosaur vs. zombie terrarium. These mini eco-systems will include live plants. Kids will be taught how to keep their dino-zombie-rarium alive.

In this physics activity, you will make your own ice cream in a bag! Try out a little science in the kitchen and turn liquids into solids in a tasty experiment. 

Fly into this class to learn about how birds use their feathers, color, and other adaptations to help them survive. Learners will dissect a pigeon to investigate its body systems and what makes it able to fly.

Have you ever wondered what a live alligator tail feels like? Or how about hand-feeding a prairie dog? Wildlife Geeks will be visiting with mammals, amphibians and reptiles for you to meet in this fun animal show and tell! 

Unearth your love for science in this interactive STEM show! Volunteers will help the performers conduct exciting experiments while we celebrate scientists who work with dirt!

Gotta plant ‘em all! Create your own Pokémon-inspired terrarium with live plants and decorative materials.

Meet some of Catawba Science Center’s live animals up close and learn about the ways that these animals have learned to survive. Help your group's dinosaur survive by using what you’ve learned!
