The Learning Lab features one PC with a variety of software and programs for design, coding, video editing, and one Canon Pixma-Pro Printer.
- Current Software and Programs: Alice 3, Arduino, Audacity, Blender, Cecilia, Celestia, Cricut Design Space, Dark Table, Davinci Resolve, Free CAD, GIMP, Groove Music, Inkscape, Krita, LMMS, Maxx Audio, Mixed Reality, Movavi, MuseScore 3, Pencil 2d, Raspberry Pi, Reaper, Scratch, Scribus, Sky Chart, Space Engine, Stellarium, Tinker CAD, Unity Hub, Virtual DJ, Visual Studio Code, Wacom Inkspace
- To use the PC, patrons must have a valid Hickory Public Library card and complete a brief orientation to ensure proper use and safety.
Canon Pixma Pro-200
- Acceptable paper types are plain paper, sticker paper, vinyl sticker paper, cardstock, greeting cards, and iron-on transfer paper.
- Paper Type Specs
- (Top Feed) - Plain paper: From 17 to 28lb (64 to 105 g /m2) Specialty paper: Up to 80lb (300 g /m2)
- (Top Feed)- Minimum size: 3.50 x 5.00 in., Maximum size: 12.95 x 39.00 in.
- (Manual Feed) Specialty paper: Up to 93lb (350 g /m2)
- (Manual Feed) Minimum size: 8.00 x 10.00 in., Maximum size: 13.00 x 39.00 in.
- The cost to print a design is $1.00 per print (ink).
- Patrons may bring their own materials, but all materials must be approved by Library staff prior to use in the equipment. Only the listed acceptable paper types are allowed.
- White 8.5X11 Vinyl Sticker Paper (matte/glossy) can be purchased for $1.00 per sheet from The Learning Lab.
- This equipment is compatible with the lab's Cricut Maker 3.
