Learn the basics of using The Learning Lab’s Brother embroidery machine. Set up the machine, upload designs, and practice on a small item to take home with you! Drop by anytime from 9-12 pm or 4-7:45 pm to participate.

The Learning Lab is available to library patrons ages 12 and up. A current Hickory Public Library card is required to use Learning Lab equipment. Patrons must sign the user agreement policy and participate in a free orientation session conducted by library staff before using the Lab.

The library invites young readers to improve their reading skills by reading to a licensed therapy dog. This fun opportunity will help build fluency and confidence. Sign up for a half hour appointment to start your Paws journey. Caregivers are required to stay in the room during the appointment.

Arrive five minutes before session time. If for any reason arrival is after 10 minutes from session time, your appointment will be cancelled.
