Event Details
Turn your favorite basic into a one-of-a-kind wearable. This hands-on introduction to upcycling with wool introduces the tools and techniques you need to start "painting" with fiber to take your basic wearable into a work of art. Local fiber artist Dede Starnes will guide the session with live demonstrations and open practice time.
Participants are asked to bring a reuse sweater or other item of clothing or accessory that you would like to upcycle and practice your skills. Knitted garments, felted garments (hats/scarves) or jersey fabrics (t-shirts) are best to begin. A needle must easily pass through the material. We will supply everything else you need.
